kerstin & sebastian

Kerstin & Basti Huber celebrated their union with a big bang and definitely in style, but not the type of style we usually consider which was such a delight for us; as they pushed our boundaries and limits to think outside the box and design a wedding that would be unique and makes a statement.

The first time we met Kerstin and her sister last year, we chatted about many possibilities and what would be the best options, and we were pretty excited to get started with planning and setting this dream to a reality. The brief was to create a magical atmosphere however what is most important to us is celebrating with our friends and family, having a fantastic time and party the night away! And to say the least, Tamonika did that justice.

Going back and forth as to where the wedding should be hosted, it was decided that their farm overlooking majestic mountains and the true Namibian felt setting would be the best option, and for sure it was the best decision!

It turned out just the way we had envisioned and what the couple wanted. A Losberger tent served as the reception venue, where the “Namibian-Boho” theme came to life. Bringing nature and wildlife together with an elegant look and feel, using vibrant colours of mustard yellow, burning sunset reds, deep marsalas and dark chocolate browns and sandy cream, highlighted with softer light pinks and turquoise to enhance to playful combination of colors, complementing the lush green bushes surrounding the venue. Namibian plants and bushes have been added and incorporated within the flower design. So, different textures played a major part in this look and feel, adding richness all over the wedding.

A Boho-inspired wedding ceremony took place on the top of a nearby hill in-between a lush bushes creating their own little nestle of love. A hexagon chuppa styled with greenery garlands and vibrant flowers created the master piece together with the signature artifacts, a female and male bull skulls tied at the top resembling the couple and the unity. Colour was represented in the program fans, multicolor carpets used as the aisle runner and tassels dangling in the wind from the chuppa.

Followed, a Namibian inspired Kapana station was set out for all the guests to enjoy whilst the lovely couple went off for their photo session. Many different Sausages from the family butchery were on the “braai” and devoured on the over-cast afternoon together with craft beers and chilled champagne, to celebrate Kerstin & Basti I Dos’!

The reception party was a great roar, the same as the décor pieces within the reception tent. Combination of banquet and round tables filled the space with a big dance floor. Styled over this area, wood inspired chandeliers dangled in different heights with “chandeliers” made out of pampas, dried palm trees and other Namibian authentic dried twigs and colorful tassels. The banquet and main tables stood out with a greenery runner, but hung from above, set with opulent design of dried leaves together with fresh greenery and naked bulbs. The tables set with a rather simpler design but incorporating the bold and vibrant colours once again. Heavy rust ornate candelabras with rose gold dinner candles towered on the tables; loose designed copper trophy flower arrangements and Springbok horns with red roses created the look. Edible fruits sprayed in black added an elegant touch as well as the copper table numbers & menu stands, hung with a custom designed card. Serviettes where “tied” with copper rings set on a copper base plate, and adding the elegant look, a maroon Conran serviette. But the best of all, the bridal table! Standing in aww, this was the highlight of the venue. The two pine wood triangles created the picture-perfect background for the main table! And the table centerpiece spoke for itself, adding again the skulls with flower crowns.

Overall, it was a very creative and inspiring wedding from the start to the end; with a couple that trusted us with every step; leaving us to expand and utilize our fullest capacity, and with success it turned out more than what we expected.
