Jocelle + Bredell | 22 March 2019 | Droombos

“In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present.” – Francis Baco

Each and every couple have a vision of their wedding day and we love when a couple comes for a consultation at Tamonika and immediately know what they want but leaves it to the experts to reshape and make the look totally exemplary.

For the black and copper, inspired wedding of Jocelle Wessels and Bredell Wessels in March at Droombos we went all out to make the look and feel as graphic and industrial chic possible and the inspiration was found in all the decor, making the ambience rich and glamour filled.

The venue created a feeling of calm and dark allure while the rich decorative florals and candles formed a simplistic design cue and made for a pure flamboyant look and feel.

The black and dark décor design with pops of colour had eccentric design cues and the final look and feel from ceremony to reception and even the photo shoot after with the black horse truly made for wow moments. The bridal party and groomsman made for such a show in their bridal ware and not your typically seen attire. Tall dark and handsome is a phrase that gets used allot when seeing a beautiful groom but in this case, it was all true and Bredell might be tall dark and handsome but Jocelle truly made for a Grecian goddess in her designer wedding gown and her hair and make-up was flawless.

The church was done with a hexagon background and rich floral backdrop in the red shed and the feeling was plush with natural feel added to it. The background was created to provide picture perfect background for the photos but also to create an intimate atmosphere in the church while using such dramatic colour scheme.
Small details always help to push the feeling of ceremonies and little things like a cold bottle of water make such a difference for a guest especially in Namibia.

The guest enjoyed after a lush canapes of “rooster koekies” and condiments while savouring on cold tafel beers and other drinks while taking in the last sun rays of the day. Guest enjoyed the welcoming embrace of the old 600-year-old camel thorn tree on the east side of the black shed where guest had time to meet and greet prior to the reception.

Walking into this dark and charismatic venue you cannot help to get shivers of pure delight, the “wow” came with ease and the design of the tables and the main focal wall was a pure simplistic delight. Table runners set with dark floral printed linen runners, copper coloured cutlery and charger plates and rich floral napkins made for an evening of style.

The florals were loosely designed in designer gold vessels and glass components brought light and shimmer to the tables. Intricate printed table and menu cards brought finer detailing and the use of the floral design cue. Black candelabras, copper candles made for such a striking lighting component and brought the tables together making them cosy.

The Bridal table was a smouldering display of copper pipes and naked bulbs hung over the table and the flower runners truly made a mark as a design component – a backdrop of rich raw brick and a frame of set with rich floral details a fashionable Pampas grasses made for an amazing display.

The whole setting at Droombos with the large white ball lights in the roof made for such an ethereal feel and décor complemented it perfectly against the dark grey walls.
